Outdoors or Bust

Orcutt Ranch

I have moved to southern California,to enjoy being able to be outdoors more.  Well since the apartment life is the most likely choice for me, I will need to discover the out of doors not in a back yard.
Enter places like this....
I anticipate being able to rent a community plot for gardening here too!!! Yippee!!!
I took a ride after work today, since I am in a temporary housing situation without any outdoor areas at my disposal. Why be here, if you have nowhere outside to enjoy????
I took a few shots of the grounds just by the entry. I have added a link above to provide some information about the history of the place and the grounds. There are citrus orchards here, and many many different types of trees. So peaceful and pretty.

  2. Hey Tone - when you are settled and have time to connect with my family (further down south) - between LA and San Juan Capistrano Mission - they can share all kinds of nature trails, parks and recreation areas and the Mission itself, with you. LOVE the blog and just subscribed. So excited for your adventure! Woo Hoo!

  3. The orange grove is a bit deeper into the area. I was on the border where there are some lemon trees. Daddy said that they are on the other side. I will see them soon. Next month they allow you for one weekend to come and pick a bagful of fruit for 3 bucks!!! you can rent a picker device for a dollar. I hope to be able to make it!
Mark, I cannot wait to see your family!!! YAY!!! I can see your niece and nephew before they are off to college. So exciting. It's going to be great to see your sister again and finally meet your Mom!
